Increase

mmigrants are essential workers. Undocumented immigrants make up approximately 3.2 percent of the country's population, but the 7 million who are employed make up 4.4 percent of the workforce

If we increase the amount of visas given out to skilled immigrants there will be better people in America and we will be more diverse also it would give those immigrants a chance to a way better life.

 @9G6KGZC from Missouri agreed…6mos6MO

Skilled immigrants travel to the USA to live a better life or have a better life for there kids. So giving them a job they earned seems like no problem

Decrease

 @9GVNM2B from Maryland disagreed…5mos5MO

While some may advocate for decreasing skilled immigrants on the basis that they steal jobs from Americans, I disagree. Skilled immigrants do jobs that Americans can't and make our nation more globally competitive.

 @9GBPT6Zfrom Virgin Islands disagreed…5mos5MO

See the great innovators of the USA and the CEOS running fortune 500 companies. Import talent from the world to the US

 @9FS34DR from North Carolina agreed…6mos6MO

mmigrants comprised 13.6 percent of the total U.S. population in 2021, a slight decrease from the 13.7 percent share they comprised in 2019 and short of the record high of 14.8 percent in 1890

If there are more talented people of different cultures and countries it would make America a way better place.

 @ISIDEWITHDiscuss this answer...8yrs8Y

Decrease, and the government should provide more incentives to prepare our citizens for these jobs

 @9G6KGZC from Missouri disagreed…6mos6MO

I feel that if immigrants are more skilled then they should get the job but, yes we should have more jobs for the american people but, can the government really do that.

 @ISIDEWITHDiscuss this answer...8yrs8Y

the US is one of the hardest countries to get a skilled work visa, we want to be able to go overseas and work in other countries but we don't want to reciprocate. In the interest of cooperation, we should make it easier to get these visas, so that we can receive them ourselves if so desired.

 @587QZFYfrom Florida answered…3yrs3Y

Greed in America has college grads expecting wages that long time workers have...THERE is a thing about learning and starting at the bottom...and if companies can find foreign workers who appreciate what they are paid...that's ok...

 @3PLD6WQfrom Illinois answered…3yrs3Y

Increase the amount. There are so many jobs that high-skilled immigrant workers do that U S citizens would never do even if it meant unemployment for them. Businesses should not take advantage of these high-skilled immigrant workers by paying them cheap wages. I believe they should earn a fair wage.

 @chickentaco from Utah answered…3yrs3Y

Increase, but penalize companies taking advantage of this program to decrease wages. But only increase if we don't have enough skilled workers in the U.S. already.

 @5H6V8BLfrom Washington answered…3yrs3Y

The high-skilled standard is ableist and excludes immigrants who do not meet ridiculous standards. You can't place the value of a person on their ability.

 @9FZLGDMDemocrat from North Carolina answered…6mos6MO

Increase for the economy’s sake, but penalize companies that abuse this program to reduce wages and provide more programs to prepare our own citizens to compete for these jobs.

 @84ZWD6LLibertarian from Pennsylvania answered…2yrs2Y

Increase, but reform K-12 curriculum + expand access to higher education (trade/vocational schools, community/4 year public colleges) to prepare Americans for these jobs

 @9CYRMGF from Texas answered…8mos8MO

Increase, but also provide incentives to prepare our citizens for those jobs.

 @9GT9LJR from New York answered…5mos5MO

Stay the same, add incentives to make more Americans with a passion for more skilled jobs to take the risk.

 @9GN5KWP from North Carolina answered…5mos5MO

Increase for the economy’s sake, but also penalize companies that abuse this program to reduce wages and increase efforts to prepare our own citizens to compete for such jobs

slightly increase high skilled workers. End all non skilled worker immigration. Deport all illegals

  @David-Cooper from Kentucky answered…1yr1Y

If an immigrant who comes to America the correct legal way, and they were in a profession and had a college degree and their own practice/business, there is no reason why they should not be allowed to take a written and performance test and if pass, be given full permission to work or start their own practice/business in America.

Increase, our economies rely on businesses hiring high skill for low cost, but fix companies taking advantage of this to decrease wages, and the government should provide more incentive to prepare workers for these jobs.

 @8V5LJ97 from Florida answered…3yrs3Y

I am satisfied with the current amount, but realize that companies are currently taking advantage of this program to decrease wages and the government should provide more incentives to prepare our citizens for these jobs.

 @9KZ2JNSDemocrat  from Texas answered…1wk1W

Current amount is fine, but the government should provide more incentives to prepare our citizens for these jobs

 @9KYG73LConstitution  from Utah answered…1wk1W

Decrease, there should be almost no immigration under any circumstances as it would change demographics radically over time

 @9KXTDH4from Guam answered…1wk1W

Do not provide passport and visa to immigrants. People should not migrate to another country, they should stay in their own nation, love their own nation first.

  @BullMooseQuakerAmerican Solidarity  from Kentucky answered…2wks2W

Increase, But ensure they're being paid equally to native wages and decrease work visas for low-skill immigrants.

 @9KRGFQWLibertarian from Minnesota answered…3wks3W

There should be no government approval necessary. If a business males an arrangement with an individual it is of no business of any third party, including governments
