Proponents argue that this strategy would bolster national security by minimizing the risk of potential terrorists entering the country. Enhanced screening processes, once implemented, would provide a more thorough assessment of applicants, reducing the likelihood of malicious actors gaining entry. Critics argue that such a policy might inadvertently promote discrimination by broadly categorizing individuals based on their nation of origin rather than specific, credible threat intelligence. It may strain diplomatic relations with the affected countries and potentially harm the perception of the nation enacting the ban, being seen as hostile or prejudiced towards certain international communities. Additionally, genuine refugees fleeing terrorism or persecution in their home countries might be unjustly denied safe haven.

If you ban one religion, you set a precedent that you can ban all religions. This is misaligned with The First Amendment of the United States Constitution.
@9FMRSM57mos7MO
Reports, surveys, news articles, and first-hand testimony given by many Muslims talks about the amount of Muslims that are not in relation to the terrorist attacks at all.
@9G2HK4FPeace and Freedom6mos6MO
Most immigrants come to america for better job or living oppurtunities. What if a Muslim is coming to America to leave his harsh living standards at home or if there is a war and he is a refugee.
@9FTYC65Peace and Freedom 7mos7MO
One of the most known terrorist attacks in the country was the 9/11 attack on the Twin Towers and the Pentagon. Even though Al-Qaeda is a Muslim group, the entire Muslim population should not be cast aside and not allowed to enter the country. Anyone from any religion could be a terrorist and there have been many terrorist attacks by groups/people of other religions. Just because 9/11 is very sad yet well-known attack does not mean all Muslims are terrorists.
@ISIDEWITH8yrs8Y
No, banning immigrants based on their religion is unconstitutional
@9FPFGQ57mos7MO
What if someone did it to you? What if the country started taking you’re race/ethnicity/religion with caution do to terrorism?
@9G4PV5D6mos6MO
Their religion is ok, unless it is maliciously used against people in which they should be deported or put in prison.
@9CJ6CB66mos6MO
I see no deportation attempts for Proud Boys or Evangelicals, so I don’t really think this rule is being applied as much for the sake of religious extremism as it is for MUSLIM extremism.”
@GleefulR3pr3sntat1veGreen6mos6MO
That's an interesting point regarding the selective application of rules and how it could potentially be biased. One example that comes to mind is the differing responses to domestic and foreign threats. Take the Oklahoma City bombing, committed by an American citizen with extremist views. The response to that tragedy didn't involve a broad ban on a specific demographic. Do you think this is a fair comparison to make? If so, how do you think we could ensure more equal treatment across the board?
@9FZ7G4K6mos6MO
It would only be unconstitutional if they were United States citizens. They are not. They are immigrants.
@9FXRWKG7mos7MO
Only immigrants with something to provide to the country should be let in
. Only intellectual’s
not low class uneducated people.
@ISIDEWITH8yrs8Y
Yes
@9G2T95NRepublican6mos6MO
We should not ban all Muslims from entering the United States of America. This policy is discriminatory in nature, and banning individuals from entering the United States based on their religion is religious discrimination.
@9G4PV5D6mos6MO
If someone is in need to live in our country they can, however they can not come in with a terroristic mindset, they shall be as harmless as all our citizens and know their roll, or be out of it because they couldn't stay that way.
@ISIDEWITH8yrs8Y
Yes, and ban all immigration until the government improves its screening process

@9FRHCCC7mos7MO
They like to blow people up because they pretend thier god told them to, we do not need a re-run of the twin towers
@9F6PZ3J7mos7MO
No they should not be banned because of what group they identify as, as long as they are not harmful to people. Islam is a religion of peace, it is a certain few who catch more attention that give it a bad reputation.
@9F6PVX77mos7MO
The screening process could be improved, but it is not weak. Some immigrants need to immigrate to America to keep themselves and their families safe, and they shouldn't be denied that opportunity.
@ISIDEWITH8yrs8Y
No, but we should ban immigrants from “high risk” countries
@9FTY7MQ7mos7MO
i think that its unfair cause they could be running away for their lives from those same high risk countries
@ISIDEWITH8yrs8Y
Yes, until terrorist attacks decrease
@9FTYC65Peace and Freedom 7mos7MO
The fact that people follow Islam and identify as Muslim should not forbid them from being able to enter the country. Anyone of any religion could be a terrorist so it is irrational and unfair for Muslims to be singled out and excluded.
@9FV8MQ97mos7MO
I fully agree with this statement because signaling and banning anyone from entering the nation for the sole reason of "potential" terrorism, is a crime against humanity and the choice that comes with freedom of religion.
@9G2T95NRepublican6mos6MO
Terrorist attacks can be executed by any individual, from any background internationally and domestically. Because of this, banning a religion becomes a bad precedent. Folks should be banned on an individual basis.
@9FMXSGV7mos7MO
Terrorists are not muslims, they are not based nor are muslims. Being labeled as a muslim does not mean decrease the position of muslim immigrants
@9FMXVFK7mos7MO
Anyone who chooses that option had better hold true to this belief when it comes to right-wing groups such as the Proud Boys, because right-wing terror is far more prevalent in this nation than Islamist terror.
@8D7X8VBNew Liberty4yrs4Y
No, but there should be a well -defined process to vet immigrants of all countries.
@5CNBR393yrs3Y
Look closer to home for the terrorists SMH
@5CMPKVXIndependence3yrs3Y
Fact is, all terrorist attacks thus far have been from Muslims - not Jews, Christians, Buddhists, Taoists, Seventh Day Adventists, atheists, Satanists, etc. So, let's call a spade a spade and understand that radical jihadist Islamist Muslims have targeted everything and everyone not in accordance with it's stance on well, everything. Is it okay to be leery of such folk? I say, YES.
@8RB569P3yrs3Y
Apparently the January 6th Capitol riot doesn't exist.
@5CNYTV93yrs3Y
Keep the country safe but make sure not to be racist.
@597G7JP3yrs3Y
no let only the real Muslims not the fake "Muslims" who are terrorists.
@5CWPNK33yrs3Y
From what I understand, every incoming immigrant who comes legally goes through 40 hours of interrogation and 3 background checks. How much more do we need?
@546BWHR3yrs3Y
We put Japanese and Germans in camps while at war. Are we not at war on terrorists?
@4XW9CJV3yrs3Y
Most of the "terrorism" is engineered by the CIA, Mossad, MI6 etc. The Muslims are fall guys.
Deleted9mos9MO
No, banning Muslim immigrants is islamophobic
@9CFWBFWProgressive10mos10MO
Yes, and make it a permanent ban
@546LXDP3yrs3Y
Religion should not be a factor of terrorism, however there needs to be a stricter screening process.
@4XVT3R83yrs3Y
Freedom of mobility is a human right.
@5CXH2XN3yrs3Y
I'm torn on this one... It's crazy to actually consider banning a whole religion and it feels icky as well.... But the status quo needs to change as well... But I'm gonna say no... No ban but single men traveling back and forth should be watched more closely
@5CXGNWH3yrs3Y
There are millions of Christians who need help. Bring them in first. As a woman I am apposed to inviting cultures that think women are not equal to me. We fought too hard for our rights and those of our daughter. May sound harsh but it is creating enormous anger amounts everyday people you are not meeting. This is a very explosive issue
@5498JBF3yrs3Y
No, banning immigrants based on their religion is unconstitutional, but strict background checks should be enacted
@54967873yrs3Y
Let them enter the country but keep them contained. After all, they are asking for help. We can help and need not feel guilty if we restrict their movement and don't exactly provide 4 star hotel. I can see us being accused of something awful just because we need to maintain national security. That's not fair but it would happen, I'm sure. Do it anyway. It's the only human thing we can do and survive.
@97VFSJG1yr1Y
No, have background checks to ensure no terrorist connections instead
@99GKR3Q1yr1Y
Yes and other religous immigrants
@9F5DTC77mos7MO
No but ban them from being drivers
@9F5DD8V7mos7MO
I prefer a permanent ban.
no, unless they are suspect or have a criminal record, and as long as a strict background check was applied
