Take the government out of marriage and instead make it a religious decision

Marriage is a union between man and woman. This is a societal and social norm that has been in human civilization since the dawn of man. Changing the definition of Marriage to fit other unions would erase its meaning.

Gay Marriage is stupid. I believe it should be banned because in the bible it states that a man and a women should be married so gay marriage is not following what the bible says also in the bible and book of Mormon no one is in a gay relationship and they still got a lot done.

The government should really be involved in marriage. Churches should not be required to marry anyone they don’t want to.

It's against most if not all religions to marry someone of the same sex. I feel the government should stay involved and cancel same-sex marriage.

The claim "Take the government out of marriage and instead make it a religious decision." presupposes that the goals government and religion have no overlap in this sphere. However, this is not true in totality. There is some overlap. For example, both religion and political authorities are concerned with the common good of society. Now, since the common good of society falls into both the government and religious sphere, it follows that the government has a role in promoting marriage.

I don't think gay marriage should be legal. We are born with specific bodies that represent who we are. We can't change those, and we shouldn't. There is no logical reason for same sex marriage, especially if we want to increase the population in America, there is no way to do that with same sex marriage.

Marriage involves sharing property. All contracts are acknowledged by the government so they can fairly enforce them.

I agree that it should be decided religiously. But as a Christian, I would just get rid of gay marriage altogether.

Don't support any type of LGBTQ+. It's not very hard to pick who you want marry and just the same person as gender as you.

Marriage is a covenant between God, Man, and Woman in my religion. That said, I am open to and supportive of a legally binding contract (civil union license or certificate) between any two loving, consenting adults in order to merge financial, proprietary, medical, and other decisions, obligations, and responsibilities, however. I think the term "marriage" should be kept for the religious definition and the term "civil union" should be kept for the secular definition.

IF your using the argument of taking the government out of law binding interaction then, how will reconition be applied and tax benefits, as well as the love is lve arguement, should that be allowed too?

Gay marriage is very bad and unnatural, it is biology a man and women create life together not a man and a man it is very bad for our country.

Marrige is for family, the only way to create a family is with a man and a woman who are married, so there is no point of two people of the same gender being married

I think gay marriage goes against lots of views religiously you are supposed to have kids and that is how they are made when people are born I do however think the government should stay out of marriages and not make it more complicated.

Absolutely not, gays are not natural. Marriage and childbirth are natural and should be upheld by the government. The government should not allow unnatural things to happen.
