If a school were not to teach about slavery how would schools be able to accurately teach about the Harlem renaissance later on in students school carrier without absolute confusion. We should not romanticize the way that people have been treated based off of the color of their skin or where they come from just because it makes people a little bit uncomfortable. It should be uncomfortable, and the uncomfortable will come with the drive to want to change the future to better our society and eventually be able to say that hate crimes will come to an end.
