The only time I'm "ok" with it is if continuing the pregnancy is a death sentence for BOTH mother and child. ONLY THEN do I think it should be allowed, but that's such an extreme case, but a tragic case nonetheless.
If you are not ready to be a parent, you should abstain from sexual relations, regardless if you're a man or woman. Yes, the woman is the one that carries the child, but it is both on men and women to live responsibly. Getting an abortion is punishing someone else for a lack of accountability on your end.
For those who talk about rape and incest being a driving factor for allowing abortions, only 1% of abortions are for pregnancies caused by rape, and 0.5% for incest (according to USA Today). Such a small percentage of cases should NOT excuse getting an abortion for the other 98% of cases.
For those who talk about the foster care system being messed up, and how children who have to go through them experience things no child ever should, gloss over the fact that their efforts in supporting abortion for this reason should be redirected to changing the foster care system.
Oh and I haven't even mentioned that there are actual centers for women who have had abortions and carry trauma.
Lots of this could be avoided if you are married, or are committed to each other for the long haul. This goes for both men AND women, but the reason it seems like women seem to carry the brunt of the burden for this is because they are the ones who carry children. Of COURSE they have more responsibility in this than men, just like how they can't smoke, drink, or do certain things while pregnant. Why? Because it's BIGGER THAN THEM. If you're an expecting parent, your child is more important than anything else. If they're not, then I pray that you find God and ask for forgiveness.
