The issue of abortion can be comparable to that of slavery. It is discrimination against a life that is valuable. There should be no reason for abortion to be legal, not even rape. Many pro-abortion advocates argue that there is more trauma from a young girl having to give birth to a living baby conceived by a rapist, while in reality abortion is the traumatic induced birth of an unborn child. When thinking about it, which seems more traumatic- giving birth to a healthy, living baby who could become a blessing to you or an adopted family, or giving birth prematurely to a baby whose life was violently ended and is dead? Children should not be punished for the sins of their fathers. The baby is a totally separate being from the father and mother. It is a child who has a right to life in the same way that we all do. As a nation, we should do better to provide counseling for victims of rape or just young mothers who feel alone, lost and scared of what is to come, resources such as free or low cost food, diapers and other necessities for those who can't afford it, or even a way for the child to be put up for adoption. Instead of bringing up abortion as the first solution, why not present other solutions with love?
