"Color blindness" not only isolates kids from a whole world of different people, but it also puts a cap on their capacity to build understanding and acceptance of different peoples and cultures. This greatly limits who they interact with, how they interact with people of color, and how they go on to influence others. Acknowledging racist tendencies and predilections we have and unlearn them accordingly to make the world a better place every effort at a time, rather than engage in the sweeping our dirt under the rug that is raising kids "color blind".
