I agree, teachers should never have a weapon or something can kill a student because it would make them scared to even be in the classroom. However with extra police officers, or SRO's, I would feel safer from a potential school shooter.

The idea of arming teachers—or loosening state restrictions to allow concealed-carry permit holders to bring guns into schools—is often circulated after school attacks. It gained attention after the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School in New town, Conn., in 2012 and was revived in the wake of the 2018

I feel that having a firearm at school grounds for conflicts that don't need to have a possible life taking

Agree, what if one day they are in a bad mood? This could escalate really fast, they might be going through something, and people could be harmed. Not all teachers are kind and responsible.

I think security guards without lethal weapons on campus would help. It could deter attacks in schools.

no i don't think that it is necessary to have cops roaming around campus just for that reason. i feel like this issue can be solve with the people in the campus such as counselor, principal, etc.

Teachers should not be able to carry firearms on school campus because it is more dangerous and more security would have to be on campus because of it.

First, spell check. Second, is this person saying that they don’t trust teachers? Hopefully they don’t send their kids to any school then.

Third, and most importantly, no need for the false dichotomy. Get cops or whatever, but also, let teachers have the option to carry a gun (with extra training, background checks, etc.). Why should teachers have to check their constitutional rights at the door?

Teachers who have access to firearms are better prepared to counter-attack in the instance of a school shooting. In high-risk areas, more cops on campuses should additionally be added.

I agree, It can be even more dangerous for a teacher to carry on campus in my opinion. Children will have access to it. Not good.

 @9GNSQ5M from Tennessee agreed…7mos7MO

I believe Armed teachers are not trustworthy because we never know what they can possibly do with weapons and students may be in reach of the weapon.
