I can understand the issue critics have with the idea that individualism, that it can lead to selfish behavior and polarization of opinions. But individualism does not necessarily mean anarchy or intellectual isolation, rather, it supports a strong belief in individualism for each separate local governments. Local authorities should not be held to any federal policies, but rather, a policy that is created by gathering the opinions and suggestions from local individuals in order to better serve that jurisdiction as a community. Because the policy that works for New York City might not work for a rural farming district in Texas.
