If the government had a significant role in media production, how do you think that would shape public opinion and culture?

They already do have a huge role in media production they control the media so its a dumb question.

it would become an outlet for the government to sway our opinions on social and political issues, therefore allowing the government to control us in a way.

I think it will change many peoples opinions because the media can lie.
