If someone is raped, they have to carry arround that traumatic experience with them EVERYWHERE, they can't just ignore it, it's part of their life now. Even if they can give their kid up for adoption, being pregnant and giving birth to the rapists baby itself can be even more traumati. Additionally, the foster care system isn't that good anyway, they might not want to put a child into that. Young kids get raped and can get pregnant, to be a kid and to be pregnant impacts their life so much.
Intercourse is also used for pleasure and fun, it's not always about having a child. Sometimes things that are used to prevent having a child doesn't work. With both rape and things that end up not working, they might not be ready to have a child.
Lastly, sometimes there are health problems that could be very risky. It could end up killing the parent and/or the child. The parents life depends on whether or not she can get an abortion. In some places, they can't even get an abortion if their life is at risk, or even if their baby ends up dying in the womb, which could also put the parents life at risk.
People are going to get abortions even if you ban it, research has shown this. They're just going to do it in unsafe ways. If you actually want to decrease the amount of abortions, you need to deal with what is causing it, don't just ban it. So things like taking rape victims seriously and giving rapists a lot more punishment than they do now, providing free birth control and other methods of preventing having a child, etc. It's not just going to magically go away if you ban it, it will just make lives harder and cause more deaths.
Focus on the root of the problem!!
