Far be it from me to actually defend Israel, but Mr. Schumer seems to be overstepping here. Israel is not obligated to hold elections that would potentially lead to hold a new Prime Minister until 2026. Israel's election system is complex and I don't fully understand it either. However I do know that the current coalition took power in 2022 and chose Netanyahu, and they are able to remain in power for 4 years. Now it's true Netanyahu is very unpopular right now, but is that really cause for demanding new elections? Mr. Schumer is currently experiencing low approval ratings. How might he respond if someone suggested we have an election for his seat this year, despite him winning the seat in 2022 and having the right to serve until 2028?

If Arab party makes up difference in blocs election could be inconclusive killing hostage release. Schumer should mind his own business. Schumer supported Iraq war let him resign

Schumer once again empowering hamas during sensitive hostage negotiations. You settle hostage issue before elections as next government could not have power to release prisoners of election is inconclusive. Schumer butting in Israel had many inconclusive elections recently

If a significant portion of a country's population and a foreign leader agree on the need for new elections, does that justify the call for action?
