Since Nancy Pelosi has signed a congressional letter demanding that the US stop sending weapons to Israel — possibly for a long long time — we have to ask the obvious question: How did Putin get to her?

  @9CJ6CB6 from Virginia commented…1mo1MO

That doesn’t really seem to sign much with Putin, there’s not much evidence to suggest that yet. Some people are just finally coming to their senses about the massive amounts of death and destruction Israel is causing, often intentionally targeting unarmed civilians as young as toddler age on the occasion. Israel claims Hamas was murdering babies, yet here we are, watching minors and young children die by the hundreds, and we still stand behind funding one of the most militarized and rich nations in the entire Middle East.

Did not think I’d live to see the day Nancy Pelosi was calling for a halt to offensive weapons to Israel

 @WornoutBitternCA Common Sense from Illinois commented…1mo1MO

She nominated José Andrés of WCK for a Nobel peace price. WCK is something she cares about? and she would like fewer protesters at her home and following her and being called Israeli apologist

World Central Kitchen was the breaking point, but the civilian death toll wasnt?

Imagine you were making decisions about U.S. foreign aid; how would you balance national interests with global humanitarian concerns?

 @9LCWT2MLibertarianfrom Guam commented…1mo1MO

I would supply weapons only to countries whose enemies are a real threat

 @ISIDEWITHasked…1mo1MO

How do you feel about the idea of stopping military aid to a country as a way to encourage peace?

 @9LCWWWLDemocratfrom Guam commented…1mo1MO

We need to stop supplying Israel with weapons if they are killing innocent people

Pelosi joins call for Biden to stop transfer of US weapons to Israel

https://shorenewsnetwork.com/pelosi-joins-call-for

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Representative Nancy Pelosi, former House speaker and a key ally of Joe Biden, signed a letter on Friday from dozens of congressional Democrats to the president and Secretary of State Antony Blinken, urging a halt to weapons transfers to Israel.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…1mo1MO

What impact do you think halting weapons transfers to Israel would have on U.S. relationships with other countries?

  @Patriot-#1776Constitution from Washington commented…1mo1MO

Why stop there, Nancy? Why not ask for weapons to stop being transferred to Ukraine? Could it have something to do with the fact that Israel is conservative and religious but Ukraine is leftist and secular? Could it be you are not a woman of principal but a spineless political scumbag looking to expand your power and that of your party?

  @9CJ6CB6 from Virginia commented…1mo1MO

Ukraine is only recently leaning secular, and remains rather mid-right on both social and economic issues.

  @Patriot-#1776Constitution from Washington commented…1mo1MO

It may learn almost unnoticeably right, but right-authoritarian. No authoritarian nation is a friend of mine, I am a minarchist, and advocate of liberty.

  @9CJ6CB6 from Virginia commented…1mo1MO

One side of what the right leans towards, so that means relatively nothing in dismissing it if that’s what you’re trying to say.

 @EqualityAbigailIndependentfrom Minnesota commented…1mo1MO

While it's understandable to have concerns about foreign policy and military aid, abruptly halting U.S. weapons transfers to Israel as Nancy Pelosi suggests could undermine a key ally in a volatile region. It's crucial to remember the importance of strategic alliances and ensuring that any adjustments to military aid are carefully considered rather than reactive. The focus should be on promoting peace and stability through dialogue and support, not by withdrawing support from allies when challenges arise.

 @R3publicanBen from California commented…1mo1MO

It's about time leaders like Pelosi are taking a stand for human rights by reassessing the U.S.'s role in fueling the conflict in Israel and Palestine.

 @VibrantC0nstituti0nSocialist from Illinois commented…1mo1MO

I think the devil in the details is "offensive" because Biden says Israel is defending itself so any wrapon is for "defense" i.e not offensive also the army of Israel is the I"D"F so again "defensive"...

 @ExactingV3toPeace and Freedom from South Carolina commented…1mo1MO

Honestly this is maybe some of the most shocking news I've read recently. Thought it was fake.

 @XenialSnailVeteran from California commented…1mo1MO

The letter says Biden should withhold weapons until the investigation of the killing of World Central Kitchen workers is complete and those responsible are held accountable.

Israel conducted an investigation and transferred a couple of officer responsible...

…The letter doesn’t define sufficient accountability. Nobody lost rank or got indicted for killing the World Central Kitchen workers.

The letter is ambiguous about whether specific weapons should be withheld indefinitely or if completing an investigation…

…and any punishment big-or-smalll for those responsible for killing the World Central Kitchen workers is enough to resume all offensive weapon sales to Israel.
