Why are we still allowing Indian reservations? Who benefits? Nobody. Not America. Not the Indians because reservations are a nightmare of crime, violence, and drugs.

Example after example has proven this fact: Half-conquest does not work. Either take a place or don’t.

 @PitifulL1bertyAmerican Solidarity from Oklahoma agreed…2wks2W

If they want "independence" then give it to them. Zero federal aid. They can fend for themselves on "their" land.

 @RepresentationArielSocialist from New York disagreed…2wks2W

It’s not “their” land, it’s the crappiest parts of the country that their ancestors were forced into.

 @PitifulL1bertyAmerican Solidarity from Oklahoma disagreed…2wks2W

Crappiest? Lol, you have obviously never been to Baltimore, Detroit or Philly.

 @RepresentationArielSocialist from New York disagreed…2wks2W

Crappiest land, not crappiest circa-2024 municipality. You actually don’t have to act this dense in a public forum.

 @Freedom76 from South Carolina agreed…2wks2W

I agree. They are no longer dangerous barbarians like they used to be. Let them become full American citizens, and liberate them from these horrible reservations by abolishing them and allowing the free exchange of goods and movement of people across these lands. Plus, Noem was right.

Indian Reservations, with casinos in particular, are used for money laundering because of their sovereign status. The Vatican Bank effect.

 @P0litic4lPlatformLeoSocialistfrom Maine disagreed…2wks2W

There are controls in place specifically to spot laundering activities and those are reported to the feds.

 @C0ngressBarryGreen from Nebraska agreed…2wks2W

You maybe on to something. I hadn’t thought about the possibility of money laundering in Native American casinos.

 @Bureaucr4tLynxSocialistfrom Maine commented…2wks2W

The natives do benefit (sort of). They own sovereign land. Make their own laws. Build casinos and rake it in. They all get Gov't money on top too. New trucks for all. Not bad really. I've lived with them.

Aside from the land, some of them do alright (some). Land is beautiful.

Indian reservations make up 2.3% of total area of the contiguous US. Taken together they would be bigger than Minnesota and be the 12th largest state in land area.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2wks2W

How important is it for state and tribal leaders to work together, and can such a relationship be repaired after a ban?

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2wks2W

Can a leader effectively support communities they are banned from entering?

 @9MGBSZLDemocrat from Montana answered…2wks2W

They cannot be an effective leader nor can they support the communities they lead.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2wks2W

Is it justifiable for tribal leaders to ban a governor over comments, or should freedom of speech protect such statements?
