Because of the international consensus from UN resolutions, and Geneva Conventions, Israel continues to commit crimes against humanity, and the US should use its influence to hold them accountable, not to subsidize the ethnic cleansing and genocide of the Palestinian people.

 @9GHXWCSfrom Guam disagreed…6mos6MO

The UN itself is extremely politicized, and it would be extremely unfair to hold Israel to account when the same standards are not applied to other countries. The accusations of Apartheid are largely unfounded as the supposed "discrimination" against Palestinians are on the basis of genuine security concerns as opposed to arbitrary racial biases. In addition, the Geneva conventions are designed with conventional nation states in mind, making it hard to apply in the case of wars against decentralized terror organs. However, a two-state solution is in the best interest of Israel for its long-term survival and legitimacy in the Middle East. The Biden administration should urge withdrawal from Gaza and the West Bank while expanding funds for Israeli security along the 1967 borders.

 @9GJ5NG9Republican from Washington disagreed…6mos6MO

Name a single instance in which Israeli defense forces have committed a war crime as a matter of policy. Contrast this with the campaign of terror perpetrated by Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and other Palestinian or islamist militias against the Israeli civilian population. The Arab residents of Gaza and the West Bank are solely responsible for their suffering because they continue to support aggressive anti-Israel groups groups perfectly willing to use them as human shields. For example, Gaza elected Hamas by an 80% margin in 2007, its hard to be sympathetic to a people cheering the extermination of Israel when Israel retaliates to attacks on its population. The US should do more to help Israel combat terrorism in Gaza, Judea, and Samaria.

1. The median age of the people in Gaza is less than 18, which would make the majority of the residents either not born or younger than toddlers when the 07 election occurred. 2. The use of hunger and thirst to punish the entirety of the Gaza strip is a textbook example of collective punishment (a war crime). 3. If there is a school shooter with hostages, we don't throw grenades to kill the shooter because that's grossly negligent to the hostages. 4. Hamas attacked Israel first. Israel has the right to defend itself, and we should give them unconditional support in their war against Hamas.

 @9GJ3VG7 from Texas agreed…6mos6MO

I strongly agree with this sentiment. Israel is committing genocide on the Palestinian people that have been subjugated and oppressed since the creation of it. Israel is a colonialist state, and the US should cease the funding and support of their efforts to partake in ethnic cleansing. The UN and Geneva Conventions also need to be directly reevaluated, as they are clearly not able to hold nations accountable for the crimes they commit. The Palestinian people need to be freed from the ongoing Israeli occupation, and Israel needs to be held accountable for its deplorable actions against the people of Palestine.

since 1948, the number of palesitian deaths has outweighed the number of israeli deaths by very large calibers, despite israel being the majority. israeli gov has been nothing but brutal and oppressive to palestine.

 @Paul.Smith  from California agreed…6mos6MO

The vast majority of civilians who have died in the Israel-Palestine conflict have been on the Palestinian side, one third of whom are children.

No, we should not give aid to any foreign nations

 @ISIDEWITHDiscuss this answer...12yrs12Y

We should give equal support to Israel and Palestine.

 @ISIDEWITHDiscuss this answer...12yrs12Y

Yes, but respect Israel’s sovereignty and do not dictate how it should interact with its neighbors

 @9G755RW  from Texas disagreed…6mos6MO

If by interaction you mean imposing violence on other societys/civilizations then they do not deserve our support in doing so

 @9C4MSQH from Alaska disagreed…11mos11MO

The Zionist entity is an illegal terrorist cult. The Zionists are terrorists. We must end all aide to the Zionist entity.

  @9CJ6CB6 from Virginia commented…10mos10MO

Perhaps we could focus on as neatly as possible fusing the two countries into a new Palestine, a country in which they are their own entity and they treat every religion with respect. America should definitely work on leaving as Israel doesn't need to be a nation in the first place.

 @9GG6L26Democrat from Indiana disagreed…6mos6MO

Israel should not retaliate but rather split the land with Gaza and then both countries can be at peace.

 @9G2B9S7Socialist from Maryland disagreed…6mos6MO

the land is rightfully Palestine's, the us should stop giving money to other countries, especially oppressive ones

 @9F578KF from California disagreed…7mos7MO

The United States currently has millions of children living in hunger, people with hundreds of thousands of dollars in student loans purely because they wanted to better themselves, and most people are one medical issue away from homelessness. We have so many issues to fix at home before helping another country further displace and promote violence on Palestinians. Free Palestine!

 @Gr4ssrootCurlewRepublican from South Carolina disagreed…7mos7MO

While it's undeniable that there are significant domestic issues to address, foreign policy isn't a zero-sum game. The U.S. can and should work on improving domestic issues while maintaining strategic alliances abroad. For instance, Israel is a key partner in intelligence sharing, counterterrorism, and a valuable ally in a volatile region. Its strategic position and technological advancements serve the U.S.'s interests. Also, to address your concern about violence and displacement, continued engagement can allow the U.S. to exert positive influence over Israel's policies towards Palestinians. How do you propose the U.S. should balance its domestic and foreign responsibilities?

 @9FZGD42 from North Carolina disagreed…6mos6MO

We need to stay out of the Palestine/Israel conflict--we do not need an embassy there and these countries need to figure out their own problems without US interference, US needs to stay in its lane and solve the problems on home soil

 @9FNK3MQ from Missouri disagreed…7mos7MO

No!!!!! We have issues in this country that should be addressed!!! We have children who go hungry every day!!! Why do we have charities that raise money to feed hungry children while we are sending billions to foreign countries??? We need to butt out of Middle East issues!!!

 @8TJMDNNdisagreed…3yrs3Y

I disagree. If you care about that money then you should understand that most money the US gives to Israel comes right back to the US. Israel buys things from the US using the money. That money can then be used to fix hunger.

 @95LCGPT from North Carolina answered…2yrs2Y

No, but we should give our full support to Palestine in it's struggle against Jewish supremacism and the so-called "Jewish State" of Israel.

 @4WTM6RPfrom Maine answered…3yrs3Y

It pisses me off that we give Israel full health coverage for its people but we say we can't do that here. Am an active duty military wife with a grown son who cannot afford dental benefits and high priced medication but there's so many who balk at the idea of lowering our country welfare system. How is this acceptable? Wtf is wrong with people? They are clearly ignorant.

This country is in serious debt. How the hell do we have money to give other countries when we don't have money for our own people? Which countries came to our aid during Hurricane Katrina, for example? America is like the dorky loser kid in school that gives the big kids his lunch money & cookies just so he can have "friends." Stop giving everyone money we don't have to give!!! Care about America for a change!

 @8TJMDNNdisagreed…3yrs3Y

If you care about that money then you should understand that most money the US gives to Israel comes right back to the US. Israel buys things from the US using the money. That money can then be used to fix things like the debt.

 @4RCMJYLfrom Tennessee answered…3yrs3Y

Absolutely not. The U.S. should recognize that Zionism and Judaism are not the same. Israel's leaders are invading a sovereign land. Why not the same outrage as over the Ukraine?

 @8WT6N85Republican from Utah commented…2yrs2Y

Because Israel is the best! They need support, and the Jews have had a lot of suffering over the years, like Hitler, Palestine, and pretty much the whole bible. Oh wait, you probably don't believe in God. So cut the last one for you.

No, we should cut off all contact with Israel.
Despite us giving them $6-$10 million US tax dollars a day, with military protection, and diplomatic immunity, they clearly hate us.
Firstly they attacked our ship the USS Liberty in 1967, killing 34 American sailors and wounding 131 others. Instead of formally apologizing they instead covered it up with the help of our government. They've also killed several US citizens over the years. While spying on us and stealing some of our secrets, not to mention they have sold many of the weapons we've given them to China. It boggles my mind…  Read more

How much of our debt do we have to borrow to give them that aid? How much of our debt is owned by other foreign entities? Why can't the Israeli government support themselves yet? How long do we plan to give them aid, while not fully recognizing Palestine as a sovereign entity? How much does our preferential treatment to Israel impact on the continuing violence between them & Palestine? Are we simply borrowing money to give to Israel to fund THEIR war against Palestine? Seems like we need to wean them off the USA's teat!

 @8TJMDNNdisagreed…3yrs3Y

Yes

The Israeli government does support itself. Israel is Americas greatest ally in the middle east. It is the only democracy in the middle east. The US gives many other country's aid. The US does recognize the Palestinians.

 @4QHQBVHfrom Pennsylvania answered…3yrs3Y

No, but we should put effort into negotiating for a peace deal between Palestine and Israel, favoring Palestine as its territory was infringed upon and it has a far greater population.
