How can we as individuals support farmers and producers in developing countries from our own neighborhoods?

 @9KDT2XY from Missouri answered…3mos3MO

To support farmers and producers in developing countries from our neighborhoods within "Alter-Globalization," individuals can buy fair trade, shop local, join CSAs, advocate for ethical sourcing, and educate others

We should try to go to the farmers market before a large supermarket to directly support local farmers. Along with that, when the farmers markets are unavailable, supermarkets should purchase more from developing countries as long as they follow health codes and give their products a place in the eye of the American public.

Would you wear clothing made from recycled materials if it became the new trend, and how do you think it could impact the fashion industry?

 @9KDTMHVDemocrat from California answered…3mos3MO

I don't really care, as long as it isn't expensive.

 @9KLV6JG from Nevada agreed…2mos2MO

the survival of future generations is more important than how much an item of clothing costs, especially if it will last a long time and is sustainable

 @9KHGSWM from California answered…2mos2MO

 @9KPV9P5 from California answered…2mos2MO

 @9KPT78Z from Pennsylvania answered…2mos2MO

I would encourage friends to begin to be aware of places they are buying from. Attempt to be sustainable or stand on morals when possible but don’t beat yourself up when a more affordable option is sold by a company you may disagree with and that’s the option you go with.

Imagine a world where every worker has the same rights and wages as developed countries; what do you think would be the biggest challenges?

 @9HCTL33 from California answered…6mos6MO

The biggest challenge would be work ethic. If every one is being paid the same regardless of the amount of time put in, people would slack. This is the problem with communism,

 @9HCTMZSPeace and Freedom from California answered…6mos6MO

the biggest challenge that we will faced will be the impact on the global economy meaning the increase cost and will also cause competitiveness

 @9HCTNDM from California answered…6mos6MO

Equalizing worker rights and wages globally faces challenges like economic disparities, corporate resistance, policy complexities, and balancing living standards across nations.

 @9HCTMCW from California answered…6mos6MO

The biggest challenge is production. With everyone having the best systems, then nothing cheap can be produced and overall the world will just go into recession, leading to dictators and the worst of the worst into taking power.

How do you define success, and should global progress be measured by something other than economic growth?

 @9HLQ74W  from North Carolina answered…5mos5MO

Global progress should be measured by life. Not economy, just life. We should try to be more successful in helping our planet, too. We're speeding up global warming by globalization. We shouldn't measure our success because of how much money we have, it's silly. Focusing on helping the planet should come first. Earth can't support all of us.

 @9HLQ354 from North Carolina answered…5mos5MO

i think that gobalization should be decided by how successful the country is.

 @9HLPXP4 from Texas answered…5mos5MO

How might your shopping habits be impacted if all products included information about their environmental footprint?

 @9HZXJ7H from Indiana answered…4mos4MO

I would be less likely to buy cheap, fast-made, cash-grab items and significantly more likely to purchase sustainably made, made-to-last products.

 @9HZXLSM from Indiana answered…4mos4MO

If all products showed information about its enviromental footprint, it will definetly decrease my spending habits on clothes. I'm a strong believer in saving the earth from climate change and such, and even contribuiting to it in this manner is nothing something I'd participate in.

 @9HZXDZK from New Hampshire answered…4mos4MO

Uhh, idk, buying more plastic stuff increases plastic production which increases plastic pollution so...idk
