If a student ever tried to take it, it could cause severe danger. Many may think that it would be a good thing for a teacher to have it in case an actual school shooter enters the building, but it is just not needed because if you have the gun out you might also be mistaken as a shooter. Also, teachers are not trained to use firearms which proves that it will only cause problems not fix them.

Its worth noting that there are places where teachers are allowed to carry firearms and receive necessary training. For instance, in several districts in Texas, the Guardian Plan allows teachers to undergo thorough background checks, psychological evaluations, and extensive firearm training to act as a last line of defense. This doesn't mean they act as law enforcement, but they provide an immediate response in the worst-case scenario.
