What would happen if a student got a hold of a firearm? What if the teacher uses it against a student? How will parents feel if they know every teacher has a gun in their classroom? There are too many factors to put into consideration that it isn't worth to allow.

I agree with this statement. To add of this, teachers might not be given sufficient firearm safety training to use their firearms responsibly. Furthermore, the knowledge that there is a gun in the classroom at all times poses a threat to the school as, if someone decided to shoot the school up again, they would know exactly where to go for a suitable weapon. On top of this, if teachers keep their firearm on their person at all times, students could feel less comfortable around teachers, teachers may hurt themselves or someone else in the case of negligent discharge, and they may still be over… Read more

Teachers should not be able to carry a gun on school grounds or in the classroom. I think the security guards are very capable of carrying a gun and are well trained so that nothing gets out of control and no student holds the firearm and risks accidentally taking the lives of someone or injuring someone very badly. If a student were to get a hold of a firearm, I would assume that their first intention would be to pull the trigger, and shoot something, however, that is extremely unsafe as it can bounce off of an object and injure someone.
