I agree with this statement. To add of this, teachers might not be given sufficient firearm safety training to use their firearms responsibly. Furthermore, the knowledge that there is a gun in the classroom at all times poses a threat to the school as, if someone decided to shoot the school up again, they would know exactly where to go for a suitable weapon. If it is instead decided that teachers keep their firearms in their classroom desk at all times or when not present in the classroom, the second a teacher leaves their firearm unattended, it poses a serious threat to everyone in that classroom regardless of whether the gun is kept in a locked safe, in the desk, or on a high shelf.
